We would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who got our neighbourhood skating rink up and running this year! The rink looks better than ever and we have seen many people young and old getting great use out of it. We also would like to thank everyone for being mindful of the current 11 person limit.
For those who were unaware, our rink is located in the greenspace along
Nolan Hill Drive and Nolancrest Heights. Come check it out!
Please also be aware that the Glenmore reservoir and community storm ponds are NOT to be used for outdoor recreation activities such as snowshoeing, cross country skiing and skating. Apart from safety concerns, these activities are prohibited by City of Calgary bylaws as both the Glenmore Reservoir and storm ponds play an important role in our water supply chain.
Nearly half of our water supply is drawn from the Glenmore Reservoir and storm Ponds protect our communities from flooding and help clean stormwater before it enters our rivers. Because of rapidly changing water levels and poor water quality, storm ponds are not for recreational purposes.
Stay safe by avoiding these areas. For more information please visit calgary.ca/bylaws
